Celebrating Sustainability

Silverhand Estate Wins ‘Best Environmental Business’ 2025 at the Gravesham Business Awards

We are absolutely delighted and deeply honoured to have been presented with the award for Best Environmental Business at the 2025 Gravesham Business Awards, on the 7th November.

This recognition is more than just a trophy; it’s a testament to our unwavering commitment to sustainability and responsible winemaking. Across the MDCV UK portfolio, we believe that the future of wine is rooted in respect for the land, and nowhere demonstrates this more so than Silverhand – this award reinforces that our efforts are making a real impact.

Our Journey Towards a Greener Future

From the very beginning, environmental stewardship has been at the heart of everything we do. Here are just a few ways we’ve been working to create a more sustainable future:

We nurture biodiversity by planting cover crops, reducing chemical inputs, and encouraging natural ecosystems.

Our estate uses advanced irrigation systems and renewable energy sources to minimize our footprint.

We’ve introduced lightweight bottles and recyclable materials to reduce carbon emissions across our supply chain.

Sustainability isn’t just about the vineyard; it’s about people. We host educational events and collaborate with local businesses to promote greener practices.

In May, in response to our continued efforts in sustainability at our flagship estate, Silverhand, we were inaugurated into the 21st National Nature Reserve, part of The King’s Series.

Winning this award is a proud moment, but it’s also a reminder that sustainability is a shared responsibility. Every glass of wine we produce reflects our promise to protect the environment for future generations.

To everyone who has supported us, thank you. And congratulations to all the finalists and winners who are making Gravesham a hub of excellence and innovation.

The Future is Sparkling
