London Clay is a modern and contemporary brand, located in the Crouch Valley in Essex. Our name pays homage to the unique fossil-rich soil that is found across Essex, and which gives our wines their distinct minerality and freshness.
London Clay is a fossil-rich soil type found in the London Basin and surrounding areas, particularly across Essex and the Crouch Valley. Traditionally it was used to make the classic yellow “London Stock” brick, which lines many of London’s tunnels and deeper foundations.
